St Anne's Chapel

The Chapel was added in 1886 and was built in memory of Mrs Mary Lee, wife of the Vicar at St Mary’s in Stoke Bruerne who ‘rested from her labours ’at Easter 1885.
It is a ‘Chapel of ease’ for St Mary’s saving parishioners’ legs from the walk to Stoke Bruerne.
The Chapel is dedicated to Saint Anne, The Patron Saint of Educators, Grandmothers and trades including lacemakers. We celebrate St Ann's day is 26th July.
No longer used for Sunday services, a short prayer meeting is held every third Thursday prior to the Village Hall coffee morning.
The Chancel has stained glass windows designed by Charles Eamer Kempe and we look forward to the day it will be restored. The alter came from Saint Mary’s in Stoke Bruerne and was installed here after a renovation at the church.
