St Anne's Chapel

The Chapel was added in 1886 and was built in memory of Mrs Mary Lee, wife of the Vicar at St Mary’s in Stoke Bruerne who ‘rested from her labours ’at Easter 1885.
It is a ‘Chapel of ease’ for St Mary’s saving parishioners’ legs from the walk to Stoke Bruerne.
The Chapel is dedicated to Saint Anne, The Patron Saint of Educators, Grandmothers and trades including lacemakers. We celebrate St Anne's day on 26th July.
The alter came from Saint Mary’s and was installed here after a renovation at the church.
The Chancel has stained glass windows designed by Charles Eamer Kempe.
A huge thank you to The Heritage Lottery fund for awarding the hall a major grant earlier in the year to completely renovate the stained glass windows. They are currently being restored off-site and will be re-instated in the early summer.

Although the chapel is no longer used for Sunday services, a short prayer meeting is held every third Thursday prior to the Village Hall coffee morning.
