Thank you for Joining us on Sunday 28th August for a History Walk around Shutlanger to discover more about the history of our village.
We started at Shutlanger Village Hall and toured the village via Twitch Hill, Showsley Road, High Street and Bakers Lane with refreshments, including cream teas, at the Village Hall afterwards.
There was a photographic exhibition at the hall too.
Barbara highlighted, The Plough, The Old Bakery, Post Office, Methodist Chapel, The Reading Rooms, The Old Slaughterhouse, The Monastery and several other spots around the village plus some interesting tales of crime and punishment.
Tickets, including an illustrative booklet, cost £5.00 with all proceeds going to The Shutlanger Village Hall Restoration Fund.
Thank you to all those who contributed with historic photographs and documents to help with this project.
Thanks also to MidCounties Co-operative Society for their generous support.
