Spooky Pumpkin Trail & Movie Night!

Calling all little monsters!

Get ready for a night of spooky fun at our Pumpkin Trail & Movie Night!

  • Hunt for pumpkins and treats in our haunted garden,
  • Enjoy a fun-filled movie after the trail,
  • Get creative with crafts and games.

Don’t worry, grown-ups! Snacks and refreshments will be available for you to buy while the kids have all the fun!

Bingo Night

Eyes down and dabbers at the ready for a fun night in the village hall on

Saturday 16th November at 7pm.

Bingo Night is coming to Shutlanger!

Christmas Wreath Workshop

Friday 29th November at 7pm is the date for our Festive wreath making evening.

We will once again be on hand to demonstrate how to make lovely door wreaths for the festive season together with some simple decorations.

Tickets are £30.00 including all materials, snacks and a glass of fizz or a soft drink.

Shutlanger Christmas Tea and Carols by Candlelight

Shutlanger Village Hall is delighted to announce its upcoming Christmas Tea and Carols by Candlelight, a friendly event for the whole village to enjoy.

Mark your calendars for Saturday 21st December from 4pm. Join us for a delightful buffet with a welcoming glass of Buck’s Fizz or soft drink, delicious treats, festive music, games and plenty of holiday cheer. We look forward to celebrating the season with you!

The Christmas Brunch is open to everyone in the community. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted to help support the Village Hall and its ongoing efforts to serve the community.

Join us on Friday 20th September for live music from local band The Angels Share performing Celtic, Irish and traditional music with a rock edge. A great night out!

Shutlanger Dog Show

Join us on Sunday 8th September at 2pm for Shutlanger's 3rd Dog Show.

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at the Shutlanger Fun Dog Show!

Whether you're a proud pet parent or a dog lover, this event promises a day full of excitement, laughter, and furry fun.

Event Highlights

  • Best in Show - Watch our beloved canine contestants compete for the top prize.
  • Fun Categories - Including Best Puppy, Waggiest Tail, Best Rescue, and more!

Shutlanger Open Gardens

Join us on Sunday 9th June from 10.30am - 2.30pm for our village Open Gardens day.

 

Buy your tickets on the day from Shutlanger Village hall and then enjoy a stroll around a dozen or so gardens within the village.

Bacon rolls, cream teas, coffee and cake for sale in the village hall afterwards.

We also have a plant sale.

Shutlanger Village Hall 140th Anniversary Garden Party 2024

We have Celebrated Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee, King Charles III Coronation, now it’s time to celebrate our very own Shutlanger Village Hall's 140th year.

Join us for an afternoon of friendship and chat on 12th May 2024 at 2pm.

There will be free cream teas, a slice of celebation cake and a glass of Prosecco or soft drink.

The  bar will also be available throughout the afternoon.

We will keep the youngsters entertained with a bouncy castle and lawn games.

You will have the chance to write in our memory book too.

Bring your own picnic and blanket, lawn chairs, sunscreen, and a hat!

Shutlanger Easter Trail

 

Bring your child along to the Shutlanger Easter Trail on Saturday 30th March 2024

Collect clues around Shutlanger Village Hall and gardens to win a prize. 

There will be refreshments available and games to play.

It takes place between 2pm and 3.30pm, admission is £2,00. Adults are free!

Carols by Candlelight

Shutlanger Village Hall invites the community to join them for a heartwarming evening of Carols by candlelight.

Gather your family, friends, and neighbours for traditional Christmas carol-singing on Saturday 23rd December at 6pm in the Shutlanger Village Hall gardens.

Sing along, with words on the big screen, to beloved classics like "Silent Night," and "O Come, All Ye Faithful," and let the warmth of the music spread the joy of Christmas.

Carols by Candlelight is free and open to everyone in the village.

Mulled wine and minced pies will be on offer to keep you cozy throughout.

We will move indoors if the weather is not favourable.

Admission is free

The King's Coronation

Sunday 7th May from 2pm

Join with friends, family and neighbours for a relaxed afternoon in the village hall gardens to celebrate the King's Coronation.

All welcome, so pack a picnic for the afternoon. Lots to do for the children.

Bouncy Castle for the children

We will have cream teas, snacks, music and a licensed bar.

Easter Egg Trail

Saturday 8th April

With ongoing works at the village hall, this year's Easter Egg Trail will take place around Shutlanger Playing Field on Showsley Road.

Come and explore our lovely park, find clues and track the Easter bunny....

Please buy your tickets in advance which includes a chocolate Easter egg, sweets and a trail.

Ruth and Barbara will once again be on hand to demonstrate how to make lovely door wreaths and Easter decorations.

Carols by Candlelight

 

 

Come and sing Christmas Carols on Friday 23rd December at 5.30pm in the village Hall gardens.

We will move indoors if the weather is not favourable.

The words will be on the big screen along with mulled wine and snacks to keep you warm.

Shutlanger Christmas Party

 

 

Join us on Saturday 17th December for our village Christmas Party.

The children's party starts at 5pm with adults invited a little later.

We will have children's games, snacks, music and a licensed bar.

Barbara's History tour of Shutlanger

Join us on Sunday 28th August at 2pm for a walk around Shutlanger and discover more about the history of our village.

We will start at Shutlanger Village Hall and tour the village via Twitch Hill, Showsley Road, High Street and Bakers Lane with refreshments available, including cream teas, at the Village Hall afterwards.

There will be a photographic exhibition at the hall.

Barbara will highlight, The Plough, The Old Bakery, Post Office, Methodist Chapel, The Reading Rooms, The Old Slaughterhouse, The Monastery and several other spots around the village plus some interesting tales of crime and punishment.

Tickets cost £5.00 with all proceeds going to The Shutlanger Village Hall Restoration Fund.
